The following statement of principles and intentions comprise the Environmental Policy of Nicotels Ltd, the operating company of Atrium Zenon Hotel Apts. This Policy has been developed according to the requirements of the international certification scheme of Travelife for sustainable tourism.

Principles

• We are committed to minimise the impact of our operations on the environment with a pollution prevention programme.
• We are committed to provide and maintain a suitable working environment within our hotel facilities in order to ensure the protection of the environment.
• We are committed to comply with all relevant legislation and regulations and with all other requirements to which the Hotel subscribes in regards to environmental management.
• We are committed to continuously improve our Hotel’s environmental performance. All our businesses take into account the effects that our activities have on the environment.
• We are committed to implement this Policy in decision making and throughout our daily activities.
• We are committed to ensure animal well-being.

We try our best to satisfy the following objectives:

• No impact to the beach, sea and natural environment.
• Provision of environmentally friendly products and services.
• Pollution prevention and environmental protection.
• Minimize energy consumption and use of renewable energy where possible.
• Minimize water consumption and use of recycled water where possible.
• Waste (solid and liquid) reduction and rational waste management.
• Employment of capable individuals and provision of continuous training to all our employees so as to achieve better performance on environmental management.

Intentions

• To identify and evaluate the environmental aspects and impacts of our activities and decide on suitable preventive and proactive actions so as to prevent pollution and protect the environment. The hotel will provide the necessary resources to achieve these objectives using the best available techniques, which do not entail excessive cost.
• To set and revise environmental objectives and targets in order to manage significant environmental aspects / impacts.
• To minimise energy consumption through monitoring, increasing use efficiency, buying or generating energy from renewable energy sources, purchasing energy efficient products and investing in energy efficient mechanisms/devices where possible, while upholding the highest standards of comfort, quality and guest service.
• To minimize water consumption through monitoring, investing in water efficient mechanisms/devices and encouraging guests to also contribute to Hotel’s effort. • To treat waste water and use it as recycled water for other needs of the Hotel and when possible investing in new technologies.
• To reduce waste production through reuse and rationally manage all waste streams produced from Hotel activities.
• To purchase environmentally friendly products like chemicals, while upholding the highest standards of comfort, quality and guest service.
• To minimize the use of chemicals known to cause damage to environment. • To conduct at regular intervals preventive maintenance of hotel machinery and equipment in order to ensure good functionality and give special attention to those using CFC/HCFC any when possible replace them.
• To minimise the possibility of soil and underground water pollution from Hotel activities.
• To educate and inform our employees in regards to environmental management in order to become more environmentally conscious.
• To communicate to our employees, customers and suppliers our Policy and ensure that all employees are aware of their individual responsibilities for acting in accordance with the Policy.
• To revise our Policy at regular intervals in order to be suitable in respect to our services and activities.
• To maintain open communication with our employees, clients, suppliers.
• To contribute to the upkeep of the environment through community.
• To incorporate environmental management into everyday business practices.

Social and Community Policy

The following statement of principles and intentions comprise the Social and Community Policy of Nicotels Ltd, the operating company of Atrium Zenon Hotel Apts. This Policy has been developed according to the requirements of the international certification scheme of Travelife for sustainable tourism.

• We are committed to provide as much as possible to the local community and vulnerable groups.
• We are committed to provide guests with guidance for appropriate behaviour, local issues which benefit from customer awareness and environmental protection.
• We are committed to ensure children safety, especially when we have reasonable doubts that they are subjected to physical or mental abuse.

We try our best to satisfy the following objectives:

• Purchase and use of local products and services where possible.
• Maintain guest welfare and protection.
• Promote exploration of the destination to guest.
• Promote local products and services to guests.

Intentions

• To promote local products and services by recommending them to guests.
• To have trained personnel as a focal point responsible for implementation for identifying and reporting any sexual exploitation of children.
• To provide services or facilities within the community.
• To create and maintain an open channel of communication with employees, residents, local businesses , local authorities and indigenous communities where relevant.
• To encourage guests to explore the destination beyond the boundaries of the property providing all relevant information and giving the opportunity to locals to promote their products or services within the Hotel premises.

Employees Policy

The following statement of principles and intentions comprise the Employees Policy of NicotelsLtd, the operating company of Atrium Zenon Hotel Apts. This Policy has been developed according to the requirements of the international certification scheme of Travelife for sustainable tourism.

• We are committed to provide and maintain a suitable and safe working environment within our hotel facilities in order to ensure the protection of all employees.
• We are committed to comply with all relevant legislation, regulations and with all other requirements to which the Hotel subscribes in regards to safety as well as labour law.
• We are committed to continuously improve health and safety levels in the workplace and welfare of employees.

We try our best to satisfy the following objectives:

• Secure employment wherever possible.
• Provide equal opportunities to all employees.
• Protect human rights and not accept any form of discrimination, racism, intimidation, abuse or harassment.
• Zero accidents and incidents.

Intentions

• To apply all relevant social security laws through providing sufficient wages and benefits at national legal standards or higher, meeting proper working hours, compensating overtime, meeting legal age of employment.

Nicotels Ltd Child Sexual Exploitation Policy

Nicotels Ltd Child Sexual Exploitation Policy
For the Atrium Zenon Hotels Apartments

Nicotels Ltd is committed to protecting children who are staying at the Atrium Zenon Hotel Apartments through all of our business practices.

We strongly believe that children should be safe from harm and we condemn the exploitation of children and young people under 18, who may have been persuaded by an adult to come and stay in our hotel and receive, in exchange for performing sexual activities, free accommodation, drink and food.

We also condemn the general exploitation of children for commercial sexual activities, illegal trafficking, child abuse, child labour and child marriage. The Code of Contact for the Protection of Children from Sexual Exploitation in Travel & Tourism, Child Sex Tourism, is defined as the commercial sexual exploitation of children by men and women who travel and at the destination they engage in sexual acts with children, any person under 18 years old.

Our staff will be trained to be alert to recognize possible cases where children may be in danger when accommodated in the hotel by adults, especially when only one adult and a child are involved. The staff will be expected and encouraged to report any child protection concerns to management.

The Management is committed to follow up all reports and refer information about child exploitation to the relevant authorities.

We will actively display the child protection campaign in our business so as to ensure that our customers know our position.

We will find ways to positively support local children in our community, including raising general issues about child vulnerability to local authorities and cmmunty associations.
